Good news Mike, it seems you’re “wedded” to the A2 so keeping it going seems the best solution.

Yeah the injectors are really expensive. 600 each from a main dealer, so we went for a reconditioned unit instead (half the price). The harness was relatively cheap but the labour to fit it would have been more significant (but worth doing regardless - the problem with 15 year old wiring is that the insulation starts to get brittle and breaks down)."Under four figures". Lucky you.
Audi A2 1.4 TDI w/6-speed gearbox. Best tank 87mpg, average of all tanks 75mpg. Fuelly ID is MMUK.
