Really busy last night, only just made it to detour #2, 3UP, warm 25°C, 6mph headwind E. Average speed for trip was only 26.7mph:

52.8 / 20.7

Total for Wednesday: 55.9 / 43.3mi

Back to 4UP this morning, 13.5°C, 5mph tailwind E, 5mpg less than yesterday - maybe because of 2 extra passengers?:

55.6 / 22.6

Tank steady at 54.1 / 499.1 / Range 90 . Fuel gauge at 2/8 . UG up 0.1 at 54.6 / DTE101

Last night, busy, detour #2, 4UP, 18.5°C, 9mph head/crosswind NE, light rain:

51.5 / 20.7

Total for Thursday: 55.0 / 43.2mi

This morning, 4UP, 14.5°C, 11mph crosswind N, heavy rain, lots of standing water, had a moment of "irrational exuberance" on the M1 to get past some really slow drivers and the Audi nanny bleeped at me and told me I'd exceeded the National Speed Limit  :

53.0 / 22.6

Tank down 0.1 at 54.0 / 542.4 / Range 40 . Fuel gauge at 1/8 . UG up 0.1 at 54.7 / DTE59

The Audi nanny also invited me to navigate to the nearest petrol station when the low fuel light came on at 528 miles on the tank and range 50. I politely declined!

Out on my standard run today visiting the grandweans. No chance of any records since both the M8 and bypass were very busy. But, and more importantly, I now have an indicated 71.3 mpg for 300 miles since my last fill and 267 miles on the range indicator. If it carries on it'll be a record fill up. Now I'm wondering if I can do over 800 miles on a total fill up. Is this possible in a Sportage? And am I willing to spend that much on diesel even at 107.9 p/litre?

Go on TE, have a go. I managed over 800 miles twice in the FR-V :D

No driving for me until Thursday when car sharer's wife's car is going for MOT. We were in his wife's Audi this morning as his car has gone for a paint job after his neighbour reversed into his bumper

A belated happy birthday. I love birthdays especially when I'm there to celebrate them. I've never been anywhere near Lincoln, is it a city or a toon and why is there a Lincoln green. I'll have to google that.

I'm still running on the last 32 odd litres I bought but the MPG indicator is now down to 67.1 although I can't complain about that. Just hoping I can last out to the next price reduction - locally Asda is down to 106.7. The nearest Asda is a mile and a half away from our local petrol station and I find it hard to understand folk who won't drive that distance to save 6.2 p/litre. Even the most thirsty cars can do the trip for a fraction of a litre.
