Thanks TE. Lincoln is a city with a castle and a cathedral. We paid a visit to an English Heritage property, the Bishops Palace which had great views over the city and back towards the cathedral.
On the way back, we called in at a home of rest for horses which my wife supports.
57.7 / 9.7
After a wander round and lunch we went home:
59.2 / 26.4
Total for trip: 60.2 / 66.9mi
Yesterday went to my parent's house for evening meal:
61.4 / 4.3
Torrential rain going home, lots of standing water and puddles:
45.1 / 4.3
Tank up 0.7 at 58.2 / 162.9 / Range 450 . Fuel gauge at 7/8 . UG DTE457
I still haven't got Ultra-Gauge calibration right, it's reading too low. Hopefully get it closer by end of this tank.

To work this morning, 3UP, colder 11°C, 6mph crosswind S. Start/stop didn't work at all this morning in traffic light section:
55.9 / 22.5
Tank down 0.2 at 58.0 / 185.4 / Range 425 . Fuel gauge at 7/8 . UG DTE442

Going home last night, 3UP, 16°C, 12mph crosswind S, busy, detour #2 with an extra mini detour through a housing estate, just scraped 50. Read manual about start/stop system, apparently the engine does not switch off if:
50.2 / 20.6
To work this morning on my own, colder 11°C, 12mph head/crosswind SW. Did more 'N' coasting - best commute yet:
62.9 / 21.5
Tank down 0.4 at 57.6 / 227.5 / Range 385 . Fuel gauge at 6/8 . UG DTE408
Weirdly, the UltraGauge now has better numbers than the on-board computer. It's showing 57.8mpg now. It's worked out it's all down to how much time the engine goes into 2-cylinder mode as the UG doesn't detect it.
- *The engine has not yet reached the minimum temperature required for stop/stop mode
*The interior temperature selected on the air conditioner has not been reached
*The exterior temperature is very high or very low
*The windscreen is being defrosted
*The parking aid is switched on
*The battery charge is too low
*The steering wheel is close to full lock or the vehicle is being steered
*Reverse gear has been selected
*The vehicle is on a steep gradient.

Going home last night, 2UP, 17°C, 11mph crosswind SSW, busy, detour #2 then hit a slow stop start queue about 6 miles from home. Not bad mpg considering:
55.2 / 20.6
Total for Wednesday: 58.8 / 42.1 Best commute mpg for the day so far.
To work this morning 3UP, 13.5°C, 8mph head/crosswind WSW. Did something I don't do very often - raced to the first traffic light less than a mile after leaving home only for it to change to red
:
59.3 / 22.5
Tank down 0.1 at 57.5 / 270.6 / Range 335 . Fuel gauge at 6/8 . UG up 0.2 at 58.0 / DTE367
It'll just be me and my daughter going home tonight. Car sharer is picking up his car with new exhaust.

Standard run today, 2 up outwards, 1 up return (dumped the CEO for a couple of days) and 10 mph following wind outwards. Traffic generally light although I diverted via Dalkeith on the return to avoid a queue before Sherrifhall. 72.2 miles overall and 69.1 mpg. Acceptable.
Kia Ceed 1.6 crdi isg Retired undefeated on 25,720 miles and 62.91 mpg overall

Took wife's Jazz Si for it's annual service and MOT yesterday. Set off just after 08:00 with the bike in the back, 12°C.
67.7 / 10.0
Biked it back. According to my Strava app, I did the 10.1 miles at an average of 17mph with a max. of 34mph.
At 10:30 I set off back to the Honda dealer on the bike again, this time I did the 10.1 miles at an average of 19.6mph - not too shabby
The garage did 0.1 miles and managed to knock the morning's journey down to 50.4mpg which I worked out as just under 2mpg
- oh well got to be done!
Drove back home, 15°C:
65.5 / 9.9
67.7 / 10.0

Hi, long time no post...I've a stat for you to consider...
Kefalonia by car/ferry over 3 weeks. 47mpg average over 3500 miles in our fully loaded 1.9tdi Touran with 4-up and aircon on permanently. When we got to Greece we were averaging over 51mpg but the hilly shorter journeys with aircon over the two weeks while we were there dropped it irrecoverably

Another week in and slowly inching my way up to the extra urban figure, only 3 mpg to go. Last fill up was 37.49 litres and 425 miles on the odo with an estimated range of 148 miles left. This is going to take a month or two if my weekly mileage continues at the present level (150 - 200 miles per week).
