Hey gang, you may remember me from a few years back, I used to be very vocal around these parts, but then changed jobs to be working around a mile from home, which probably had as much altitude change as it had distance. In short there was nothing I could do to increase fuel economy, so I gave up. The engine never got warm in under 2 miles and I couldn't really try to save much fuel given the terrain.
However we moved house and I have a nice long 15 mile drive each way every day, so I'm back. Hope you haven't missed me too much, it is good to see some of the old names still here.
Anyway today I got over 60mpg on the trip computer, which I'm happy with, the dte went from 485 to 505 and I traveled 30 miles. Result!
Anyway, I'm glad to be back.

Thanks buddy, well I'm busy trying to find the cause of my poor fuel economy in the motor, I am down to around 42mpg which is awful, it used to be up in the 50-60s I thought

Right then, I’m back again. I ended up changing the fabia for an Octavia, then that had an issue so went back to the dealer and now I’m back with a fabia again, this time a 64 plate estate with a 1.2 engine.
I’ve only had the car for a few days so still getting used to driving normally and getting to grips with the 1.2 (having been used to a 1.9 and 1.8L with a lot more power)
So far I’m getting around 40-45 to the gallon, I think I can probably beat that, but as my drive is all country lane Single lane A roads or B roads it is a lot harder to be very efficient I hope to be able to get to around 50 with a little bit of work
