Hi,
Obviously just joined.
I have two cars: Skoda Octavia mk3 1.4tsi manual (2014) and an ancient Toyota Echo (Yaris for some) with 1.3L engine and manual box (2003).
Pretty happy with consumption I get from both but always looking to improve.

Hi Gerrycan
Thanks for joining!
You might have to do one more post before you can post freely
What kind of mpg are you getting from the Skoda and the Yaris?

I'll keep this short as my previous attempt to reply crashed out asking for a further sign on to the site.
The Skoda Octavia mk3 manual 1.4tsi is actually the most frugal petrol engine I've owned. Lifetime average is 6.3L/100 (45mpg) but the relatively poor return is explained by the innumerable short urban journeys it undertakes. Longer journeys are about 5L/100 (55mpg).
The ancient 2003 Toyota manual 1.3L Echo is still good mechanically and averages 5.9L/100 but this better consumption is due to journey type than characteristics. On a longer run it returns about 5.7L/100 (49mpg).

Hi,
I've tried to submit two replies so far and I'm not sure if they are getting through using the simple entry method so I have gone into the more advanced facilities and was prompted to signon again, so we will see how we go.
The Octavia averages 6.3L/100 and the Echo averages 5.9L/100, most of the journeys for both vehicles are very short urban runs.
On longer runs the Octavia is far more economical usually 5L/100 but once as low as 4.5L/100 (60+mpg).

Hi Gerrycan
Sorry you’ve had a little difficulty but thanks for persevering
Hopefully it’s all ok now and you can post freely.
I’m on holiday in Guernsey with no car only walk, bus and bike for me here!

Sorry to interrupt your holiday.
Guernsey looks a great place to cycle around. Enjoy.
It seems I'm still having problems with quick replies but advanced option seems to work ok
