Hello everyone. I would like to ask for opinions about hybrid cars but I really lack the knowledge about them. I need your help and I would like to ask you what would be the best Hybrid car for you and why? Please tell me the information in a way that an amateur like me can understand.

I like the idea of a hybrid but have no intention of swapping any of our cars any time soon.
I've read about them and I think a diesel hybrid would probably be the way to go - like the new Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 coming soon - 200bhp,CO2 just 99g/km and 74.4mpg. I mentioned this on the forum last August http://www.hypermiler.co.uk/forum/viewt ... geot#p1636 but I'd rather have a Honda

My ideal would be a plug-in or 'extended range' hybrid like the Vauxhall Ampere. Even with a 96 mile round trip commute, almost all would be on pure electric as I have a parking space at work (HSBC, Canary Wharf) and they have already said that they would provide metered charging sockets at cost for anyone with a permanent space who wanted one installed.
This would reduce my commuting costs and emissions hugely and I'd love to do it.
Unfortunately I'm a Motability customer and have just change my car and the plug-ins weren't available and the Prius was too expensive, but I'm hoping this will be different in 3 years when I change again.

There's a test of the Peugeot 3008 diesel hybrid here:

Great emissions and FE just a bit big! I'd want a smaller version that still seats 5 with the same technology for less money and better FE - Am I too fussy
