Latest information. Asus Memo Pad is now £103.95 on Amazon. But the Little Treasures both got an Ipad mini from Insanity Clause so the Blackberry Playbooks (64GB) from last year are going spare. I think I'll slip one of them a few sweeties in exchange for a used Playbook. Then I can just about afford a new phone instead of a 4 year old Samsung Bada Wave with a wonky battery. The Doro Liberto 810 phone for wrinklies looks right up my street.

Sounds like a better solution!
I've now got an iPhone 4S 32Gb hand-me-down to replace my HTC Desire S with the cracked screen hand-me-down. I don't like spending a lot on phones

Aye but... £99 or a 20p bag from the Granny Shop. Hmmm... do I need to think about it?
To explain - the wee village where they live has two shops. One is "The Spar" and the other is the 100 year old "Granny Shop". "The Spar" doesn't do 20p bags; not child friendly in the least.

I've just re - read your 1st post. It makes more sense this year. You're going to bribe the little people with sweets in exchange for their unwanted tech. Good plan. I'm in. I originally thought you were looking to buy a memo pad for £104. I was trying to offer an alternative. If your able to get a play book for 20p then do it. They are pretty good little tablets, only minor issue is a lack of apps, but ideal for Web based activities.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Bribery! How could any loving, caring grandfather stoop so low. It is an honest, straightforward business transaction that will also contribute to their financial education. Years from now they will tell everyone that their grand-dad was a leading financial expert who always kept his word.
And, as it happens, there are two Playbooks. Top of the range 64Gb models in perfect working order. One reserved for me but if you want a high quality tablet at a reasonable price - make me an offer. Mind you I won't let it go for sweeties.

More technology adding the mountain of hazardous electric goods waste.
I can't really talk, my two year old cant string a ful sentence together yet but last week she picked up something up and said iPad, later that day she tried to swipe the screen of a TV.
