The 2009 UK MPG Marathon is now over and the winner has been annouced as Mick Linford and his smart fortwo cdi passion coupe achieving a phenomenal figure of 96.81 over the demanding 360-mile route.  The result was the best ever mpg figure in the event’s seven-year history and improved on the cdi’s official combined fuel economy figure of 85.6mpg by over 13 per cent.
