Winter is finally here and with the cold weather (and Santa) comes both higher fuel bills for the frosty UK population. There are a number of ways to keep your winter fuel costs down, it's mostly common sense but it can make a huge difference to your consumption. Here are Hypermilers top tips: Reduce idling: Use your Garage (if you have one) or cover your windscreen up over night to ensure an ice free morning. Park into the sun: If you don’t have a garage or windscreen cover - Let the sun de-ice your windscreen instead of idling until your heaters slowly thaw it. Take off the snow: It may look pretty but snow not only weighs a far bit but also increases drag.
These are just a few ways you can help save money on fuel over the wintry season. Check our our busy Hypermiling Forum for more ideas from our members.
